About

Name origin
ZEROBASEONE symbolizes a 'glorious beginning': the members start from zero (0) and are born as one (1), and the name carries their vow to share the unfinished journey from zero to one with their fans, ZEROSE.
Formation
ZEROBASEONE was formed through Mnet's survival show BOYS PLANET and debuted on July 10, 2023 with the mini album YOUTH IN THE SHADE under WAKEONE Entertainment. The group debuted as nine members; Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyu Vin and Han Yu Jin concluded their activities on March 15, 2026, and Sung Han Bin, Kim Ji Woong, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae Rae and Park Gun Wook continue as a five-member group. Seok Matthew and Park Gun Wook also promote as the group's first sub-unit, EMP: their mixtape EMP Mixtape Vol.1: We the Extra (September 21, 2026) carried the double title tracks 'EMP' and 'Pina C', and their first digital single 'OFF script' follows on November 10, 2026, led by the pre-release title track 'RUN (with Dynamic Duo)' (November 4, 2026).
Why fans love them
Fans love ZEROBASEONE for their bright, high-energy performances, strong vocal and dance line, and a run of record-breaking debut-era sales that made them a defining fifth-generation boy group. Their music moves easily between refreshing youth-pop and harder, darker title tracks, and the members' survival-show backstory gives longtime fans a strong sense of having grown up with the group.

Hit songs

In Bloom

The debut title track from the mini album YOUTH IN THE SHADE (July 10, 2023), a bright, breezy pop song about taking a first, determined step toward blooming, built around a sample of a-ha's 'Take On Me'.

Why it hit: The debut became a record-breaking million-selling first album and its music video passed 10 million views in two days, instantly establishing ZB1 as a fifth-generation frontrunner.

CRUSH

The title track of the second mini album MELTING POINT (November 6, 2023), an intense drum-and-bass and Jersey club track whose Korean title means 'thorn', turning the group's bright image darker and sharper.

Why it hit: The first comeback proved ZB1 were not a one-concept group, with the harder sound and performance becoming a fan-favorite signature stage.

GOOD SO BAD

The title track of the fourth mini album CINEMA PARADISE (August 26, 2024), an electronic synth-pop song about the ambivalent feeling of someone becoming the center of your universe in a fast-changing world.

Why it hit: Its cinematic video and catchy, bittersweet hook made it one of the group's most iconic title tracks and a staple of their concert setlists.
