- Name origin
- UNCHILD combines the prefix 'un-', which overturns the ordinary, with 'child', signifying a person who is not confined by any standards — a name for rule-breakers who refuse to fit a predefined mold.
- Formation
- UNCHILD is a six-member girl group formed by High Up Entertainment, the agency's first girl group since STAYC in 2020. The multinational lineup — four Korean members plus Tina from China and Ako from Japan — debuted on April 21, 2026 with the single album We Are UNCHILD. Leader Heekie has been on hiatus since June 2026 to focus on her recovery, with the group promoting as five in the meantime.
